Due to a change in the SQL Server Status app, to successfully schedule SQL Server backups a new parameter is required in the "Action" portion of the task, as well as an updated version of the utility.
The user is now required to specify the folder to launch the app from within the task. This should be the ProCal\Programs folder that is in use for software launching already. By default, this path would be C:\ProCal\Programs.
To make these changes:
- Download the zipped utility from the bottom of this article
- Extract the file and place in your ProCal\Programs folder eg C:\ProCal\Programs
- Open Windows Task Scheduler
- Select the existing task for Transmille SQL Backups, right click, select Properties
- If you have not yet created a task, please instead refer to: Scheduling SQL Server Backups : Transmille Support
- Select the "Actions" tab, higlight the action, then click "Edit"
- Select the SQL Server Status.exe file from your ProCal\Programs folder using the browse button
- Add your ProCal\Programs folder to the "Start in (optional)" field - this is usually the same location as your app
- Click OK to close the window, then OK again to save the task. You may be prompted to enter an administrator password
- Your scheduled task has now been updated
