2100 : Locating & Reseating the Processor

Modified on Tue, 2 Mar, 2021 at 2:40 PM

The 2100 Electrical Test Equipment calibrator processor is located on the top board, and is mounted in a surface mount chip carrier within the processor module PCB.

To check the processor is firmly seated in this carrier it is necessary to drop the front panel down and remove the front panel, which requires only a cross head screwdriver. This will not affect the calibration of the instrument unless the calibration memory has been corrupted.

WARNING : MAKE SURE THAT THE 2100 HAS BEEN DISCONNECTED FROM LINE POWER BEFORE FOLLOWING THE BELOW INSTRUCTIONS.

First, remove the plastic strips that cover the screws on the front panel.

Then using a screwdriver, remove the 4 screws that hold the front panel in place.

After removing these screws, the front panel can be gently hinged downwards, allowing access to the processor socket.

To check that the processor is correctly seated, push your hand downwards on the processor, making sure that all 4 corners of the processor are in the socket.
