What is the difference between ISO 17025 and ISO 9001

Transmille are accredited to ISO 17025 which allows us to issue accredited calibration certificates.

We frequently get asked if we are planning to get accreditation to ISO 9001 as there is some confusion between the different accreditation standards.

To clear any confusion, the ISO-ILAC-IAF organisations have produced a statement confirming that the quality requirements of ISO/IEC 17025 are in accordance with the principles of ISO 9001.

This document can be found at the following link : http://ilac.org/?ddownload=120917.

Essentially, ISO 17025 includes the management system requirements of ISO 9001 and the technical requirements of ISO 17025.

Transmille maintains a full quality system which documents our processes and procedures and are audited annually by UKAS to confirm that our management system operates correctly and that we are deemed to be operating our system in accordance with the requirements of the current version of 17025.
