Adjusting Power Phase on a 3000A / 4000 / 9000A Calibrator

Modified on Tue, 21 Mar, 2023 at 12:23 PM

To adjust the phase angle correction of the AC Power output, the Calibrator Setup program is required - Installing the Transmille Calibrator Setup Utility

Open the Calibrator setup program and ensure the correct calibrator is selected, and then click 'Power Calibration'

To adjust the phase error at 50Hz, ensure that the correct current range is set, and that the frequency control is set to 50Hz. Click 'Set Fullscale' and then click 'Output On'

The Phase correction Factor is the error in degrees, multiplied by 100.

For instance, this calibrator had an error of +0.3 degrees, to correct for this a factor of 30 was entered in the 50Hz correction box. Click 'SET' to store the correction and then wait for the calibrator output to adjust.

If there is still an error present, add the extra correction to the existing number. I.e. the error is now 0.1 degrees, so the factor should be INCREASED to 40

To adjust the 400Hz correction point, enter 400 in the empty Frequency Control box and then select the frequency radio button. The output will change to 400Hz. Allow the calibrator to settle and then repeat the process as before

When happy with the adjustments, click 'Store' and then click the 'Exit' button
