Delete SQL Users following Restore / Password Change

Modified on Fri, 14 Jun at 11:51 AM

For Auditing purposes, the ProCal suite creates additional users in the SQL Instance after logging in to track changes made to the database.

However, when restoring the database, these users often do not carry over and need to be deleted before they can log in again.

Using SSMS (Sql Server Management Studio), connect to the instance and database that hosts the new ProCal Database.

Expand the ProCal database, and then the Security tab, and then Users

Delete all users that start with either PCT, ProCal or PSAL

To delete the users, right click on each one and click 'delete.'

A prompt will appear to confirm that you wish to delete the user, click OK. Make sure that you have the user selected and nothing else

Repeat this for each user that ProCal has generated (do NOT delete the sa user or any other users that your system administrator may have created)
